Charter Currents: Governor Releases a ‘Blueprint for a Safer Economy’ and Ditches ‘County Monitoring List’

Sacramento, CA—In a press conference today the governor unveiled the “Blueprint for a Safer Economy,” which is a new way of measuring the relative safety for reopening in each of California’s 58 counties. Using a series of “tiers” for measurement, this framework replaces the County Data Monitoring List that previously determined what business in which regions could open and how.
The governor believes that this change is necessary to reflect the increased information gained over the past several months, both in terms of how to calculate and test for infection, and how to prevent the spread of the disease. The idea is that this new “Blueprint” will give Californians a way to find by county, and even by zip code, what is open and what is closed in their community.
