Governor Brown signed a revised state budget bill and related “trailer” bills last week after the Legislature largely acceded to the Governor’s more conservative estimates of state revenues and education funding. The budget compromise aligns closely to the Governor’s prior proposals, with slightly lower levels of funding for the Local Control Funding Formula (LCFF), the addition of a new, one-time certificated staff development grant, and smaller per-ADA grants for mandate reimbursement and standards implementation.
