Charter Currents: Newsom’s May Revise Trims Funding, Takes Cheap Shot at Charter Schools

Governor Newsom’s May Revision to his proposed 2019-20 state budget trims funding for the Local Control Funding Formula (LCFF), further reduces teacher retirement costs, takes a few cheap shots at charter schools, and proposes the first payment to an education reserve fund. The Governor discussed highlights to the revision during a press conference this morning. While some details of the May Revise aren’t yet available, it includes the following key features; these are based on available summary information and the Governor’s announcements this morning.
