Charter Currents: Governor’s May Revise Includes Large Increase In LCFF and One-Time Funds for Schools

Backed by surging state tax revenues and constrained by constitutional spending formulas, Governor Brown today proposed increasing funding for schools by an additional $5 billion in 2015-16, on top previously proposed increases. Brown proposes directing most of the increase toward larger onetime grants for schools and speeding the transition toward full funding under the Local Control Funding Formula for schools.
