Charter Currents: Act Now to Urge Governor to VETO Anti-Charter Bills

Published September 10, 2018 12:16

The California State Legislature wrapped-up a two-year legislative cycle last week, sending several bills of concern to charter schools to the Governor, and thankfully letting one die without reaching the Governor's desk.

This article provides a preliminary review of key legislation of concern to charter schools. CSDC will publish a broader summary of all key bills after the Governor has a chance to review and act on all of the measures before him. According to the state constitution, the Governor has until September 30 to either sign or veto bills recently passed by the Legislature. If he takes no action, the bills on his desk become law without his signature.
