Back to School: What You May Have Missed During the Summer
Published September 13, 2017 16:03
With the new school year underway, we thought we would take a moment to wish you and your colleagues best of luck in accomplishing all of your instructional and operational goals during the 2017-18 academic year, as well as to share a few updates you may have missed during the summer.
Is Your CSDC Membership Active for 2017-18?
Schools pay only $2-$3 per student enrolled.
For many California charter schools, the beginning of the new school year is a great time to start or renew their annual CSDC Memberships, which yield numerous helpful, time-saving benefits and resources, as well as especially effective charter advocacy on behalf of the California movement at the State Capitol in Sacramento.
Please visit www.chartercenter.org/membership for additional information as well as to start or renew your school's membership today.
CSDC Staff Changes
Farewell to Michael Agostini & Joyce L. Montgomery
CSDC recently bid farewell to two excellent staff members who will be greatly missed: Michael Agostini and Joyce L. Montgomery.
As CSDC's long-time Director of Operations, Michael Agostini designed and led numerous CSDC training programs, including our annual Leadership Intensive "boot camp" and statewide annual conference, the California Charter Schools Leadership Update Conference. Michael also provided consulting assistance to charter school operators and developers, conducting CSDC School Quality Reviews for dozens of charter schools across the state of California. CSDC wishes Michael the best of luck in his new role as Head of School at Temecula Preparatory School.
Joyce L. Montgomery, CSDC's former Education Finance & Policy Specialist, not only led and managed CSDC's Charter School Business Officer Training, but also helped scores of charter schools by providing in-depth reviews of their programs, as well as supporting charters during the chartering, appeal and revocation processes. We look forward to seeing Joyce at this year's conference (when she will present two sessions on charter finance) and wish her well in her new endeavor as the Chief Financial Officer of Summit Public Schools.
