2017 Leadership Intensive: Why Apply Early?
Published March 08, 2017 07:49
The priority application round for this year's California Charter Schools Leadership Intensive (held June 27-30 in Irvine, CA) is set to close in two weeks on Wednesday, March 22.
Apply now to have the best chance of being admitted to this comprehensive, 4-day "boot camp" that provides in-depth training on the essential charter school leadership and management topics.
3 Reasons for Applying Early:
We generally receive fewer applications in the priority round than we do in the subsequent regular application round (closing May 19), meaning that the admission rate during the priority round is much higher than it will be in May.
At this time in the year, we know most charter leaders are already making their plans for the summer. If you are admitted during the priority round, you can block this week off on your calendar and make your travel plans well in advance of the event, locking in your flight and transportation before rates increase.
A Second Look
If you're not admitted during the priority round, you will get the benefit of a second review during the regular application round.
The Leadership Intensive is designed for and targeted at new and experienced California charter school principals and other school leaders who have direct responsibility for overseeing and managing a broad range of responsibilities at their schools, specifically:
• newly hired administrators, especially those new to California charter schools,
• teachers recently promoted to leadership roles, and
• staff of newly authorized schools.
What Will You Learn?
The Leadership Intensive features a range of in-depth sessions, guest speakers, case studies, and group activities that address a broad range of key charter school leadership concepts and skills. The pace of the Intensive is fast, intense, and engaging.
